About Udyam Registration

Udyam Registration is the Government of India’s official online registration system for recognising Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). It is also commonly called as MSME Registration.

It was introduced on 1 July, 2020 and replaced the earlier Udyog Aadhaar Registration or UAM system. The Udyam Registration is a simple, online and paperless process that can be completed in a few minutes. Once registered, there is no need for renewal.

The Udyam Registration process is completely based on self-declaration and there is no need for manual document submission. Aadhaar number is used for identity verification, while PAN and GSTIN details are required as applicable under the relevant tax and registration requirements in India.

After registration, the business receives an Udyam Registration Certificate that contains a unique Udyam Registration Number (URN). MSME Registration can help eligible MSMEs access various government benefits, subsidies, and schemes specially designed to support the growth of the MSME sector.
